So this is what I've been doing this valentines day...
I have a question for you guys. I showed it to my Dad and he said that it might be improved by sharpening the definition of the feathers... I had been playing with the idea of doing a watercolor wash over it, but the ink isn't waterproof. So the question is: should I leave it as it is (which means that the individual lines would remain sharply defined) or should I add the wash, which would smudge the individual lines a bit, but make it pop out if the page a bit more?
keep in mind that I may ignore your advice and do whatever I want to do anyways...

I would ink it with waterproof india ink and then do a wash, then you keep all the detail with no smudging. Plus ink will photocopy better if you don't want to ruin the original.
